NEW MEDICAL FACILITY BENEFITS ALL

After first opening its doors in mid May, a new Mountain Park Health Center clinic in Tempe held its Grand Opening Tuesday to a large crowd excited to see and hear all about the integration and innovation that separates this new facility from all others.

A keynote speaker, Dr. Jon Sweigert, offered this to say about the new Mountain Park Health Center: “Well, we’re in seven locations across the valley right now. So we hope to keep spreading this model because there’s still a lot of more people that don’t have access to the right kind of health care that they need…we want to make sure we take down the barriers that keep people from getting the care they need.”

Dr, Sweigert also mentioned that he was proud that he kept the stakeholders in the project as actively participated as they were, even though he openly admitted that keeping them out could have actually sped up the process of building the new clinic. He simply said that he was a firm believer that “people own what they help to build”.

“This is a fabulous facility,” said Jan Nicpon, Director of Senior Services at TCAA: The Tempe Community Action Agency. “I just really think we need to educate the community of the services that are here. I just think that people would really enjoy, the minute they walk through the front door, on how comfortable of place it is.” Jan also elaborated on how the lower income people would see how great, welcoming and helpful Mountain Park Medical Center is to anyone, as well as the elderly and senior citizens whom she says may be hesitant to even go to the doctors for fear of not having proper medical coverage.

“You come here. You can have your blood work done. Your testing done. It’s like a one stop shop. I hate to say that related to medical care…,” she gleefully added, “…but gosh, that’s an advantage…it’s definitely a new feeling. I think anybody who walked in here would be amazed. Just amazed!”

Tempe Mayor Mark Mitchell not only shared the same sentient, but he also spoke on all the little details, from the trees outside to the many ways of transportation that lead right to the clinic’s front door. Mayor Mitchell then went on to reiterate that Mountain Park Health Center sees more than 80,000 patients a year. This new Tempe facility would bring 80 new jobs which average annual salary would be $55,000.

Mountain Park Health Center also reiterated their important point that this new innovative special, and best quality facility is meant to be a safe, comfortable and open clinic for everyone. They intend to spread that vision and message not just today and for those who are sick, but to everyone across the valley and state.
